Настоящее имя: Matsushita Electric Ind. Co., Ltd.
Matsushita Denki Sangyō (Matsushita Electric Industrial) was the old name of the company Panasonic.
Matsushita operated two DVD manufacturing plants in Japan, as well as owning or co-owning several overseas optical disc plants:
· PDSC, a DVD manufacturing plant in Torrance, CA, USA
· Matsushita Universal Media Services, a joint venture between PDSC and Universal Music & Video Distribution, Inc. which operated a CD/DVD manufacturing plant in Pinckneyville, IL, USA
· Matsushita Media Manufacturing LLC of America, a joint venture between PDSC and Eastman Kodak Co. which operated optical disc plants in Guadalajara, Mexico, and Youghal, Ireland
PDSC was sold to Technicolor in the first half of 2002, at which time the plants in Pinckneyville, Guadalajara and Youghal all came under Technicolor's ownership. Matsushita did however retain ownership of the DVD plant in Torrance, CA, which remained in operation until 2015.
