PDSC
Настоящее имя: PDSC
PDSC (short for Panasonic Disc Services Corp.), a subsidiary of the Japanese Matsushita Electric Ind. Co., Ltd., was a DVD manufacturing company located in Torrance, California, USA. The plant commenced operations in 1997, and closed in 2015.
In 1999, PDSC went into a joint venture with Universal Music & Video Distribution, Inc. to install DVD manufacturing capabilities at Universal's CD manufacturing plant in Pinckneyville, which continued as Matsushita Universal Media Services.
PDSC also entered into a joint venture with Eastman Kodak Co. in 1999 to establish Matsushita Media Manufacturing LLC of America, a company that aimed to increase DVD and other optical disc manufacturing capabilties available to both Eastman Kodak and Panasonic, operating out of Eastman Kodak's existing plants in Youghal and Guadalajara. However, Eastman Kodak decided to cease its CD-R manufacturing operations at the end of 2001, and sold its share of Matsushita Media Manufacturing LLC to PDSC.
Matsushita Electric sold PDSC to Technicolor in the first half of 2002, at which time the Youghal and Guadalajara plants came under Technicolor's ownership, as well as Matsushita Universal Media Services, which then continued as Technicolor Universal Media Services. The DVD plant in Torrance, CA was however retained by Matsushita Electric.
