It appears that MUMS probably assigned a new 10-digit matrix number to each new glass master, as opposed to retaining the same internal catalogue number across multiple serial glass masters for the same release (such as the Axxxxxxxxxx-yyzz or DIDX- numbers assigned by Sony DADC). Therefore, matrix variants that have differerent 10-digit matrix numbers should remain grouped as variants on one single submission, with the lower number entered first in LCCN such that that number is displayed on the MUMS profile for that submission.
The plant may also be identified by the acronym MUMS in the disc matrix, seemingly for discs glass mastered at external locations for replication by MUMS. Some DVDs have "MADE IN USA MUMS IL" moulded in the inner plastic hub.
Mastering SID codes: IFPI L771, IFPI L772
Mould SID codes: IFPI 2A**
Please note that these SID codes were used by the same manufacturing plant before and after it was known as MUMS, so this label profile should not be credited by SID codes alone when its name is not found in the matrix.
When "MATSUSHITA" or "MATSUSHITA UNIVERSAL MEDIA SERVICES" is found in the matrix along with Cx.x xxxxxx-nn and mastering SID code IFPI L89*, this indicates that the glass master was manufactured by Technicolor, Camarillo, CA for replication by MUMS. In such cases please enter in LCCN as;
Glass Mastered At – Technicolor, Camarillo, CA – xxxxxx-nn
