PRS stands for PolyGram Record Service/PolyGram Record Services. Please use this company only where the plant location cannot be identified.

Established in 1978 and operating vinyl pressing, cassette duplicating and CD pressing plants. Originally taking over the Phonogram companies and plants operating in 21 countries, this was soon scaled down to a couple of plants only.
Between 1986 and 1991, the PRS plants in France and Germany were transferred to PDO.
Some PRS companies existed into the late 1990s, e.g. Japan and Australia, mainly for distribution.
PRS vinyl pressings can be identified by a 3-digit numeric code, identifying the country of the lacquer cut. This code was originally introduced around 1957 by Philips Phonografische Industrie in Baarn to identify the country where the lathes were operating. Known country codes (companies, plants):
