PRS Ltd., Miramar/Wellington

PolyGram Record Service Ltd. Was a record manufacturing company located in Miramar, Wellington, New Zealand. The plant operated under this name from 01 November 1978 until October 1984 when it closed down. Previously named Music Carriers (NZ) Ltd. The plant operated four PRA (Philips) automatic presses and one Lened dual 7" automatic press. Lacquer cuts can usually be identified by "700", found stamped or etched into the runout area of records. The plant occasionally pressed records for Australia. On those records you may also find 700 or 150 as numbers. A typical characteristic for Miramar pressings are the elevated outer rings, close to the edge of the paper labels starting at about 87mm diameter, with an inner ring of about 30mm diameter.
