Master Records, Inc. (3)
Настоящее имя: Master Records, Inc. (3)
This was a short-lived US recording venture started by Irving Mills in 1937. The company specialized in jazz and big-band recordings of high musical quality but limited commercial appeal. This included recordings by Raymond Scott, Barney Bigard and Johnny Hodges. Records were produced by Brunswick Record Corporation, which at that time was a division within the American Record Corporation, and were released on both the Master (2) and Variety (6) labels. The company folded by the end of 1937, although in 1938 Mills licensed his masters to Brunswick Record Corporation, which reissued recordings on Brunswick, Vocalion (2) and other American Record Corporation/Brunswick Record Corporation brands. In 1939, rights passed to Columbia Recording Corporation, which reissued some Master material in its red-label Columbia series.
