IMD (2)

IMD specialized in cassettes with releases from the 1970s to 1990s. IMD is believed to originate from Lebanon and its releases were likely available in the wider Middle East, such as in Saudi Arabia and Bahrein. Throughout the years, the cassette shells (honeycomb grid, etc), printed fonts and embossed logos appeared on releases in different design variations. Please check the image section (images now defunct) and [url=https://www.discogs.com/forum/thread/951974?page=1&message_id=9638642#9638453]this forum post[/url] for identification and confirmation. Cassettes themselves usually have variants with either white labels or direct body printing; these are to be entered as separate issues, using the free text field to distinguish if both variants appear in the database, and it is good practice to link the variants together using the page notes. The label logo is very similar to the designs of [l46286] (Poland), [l=QP (2)] (Saudi Arabia) and [l=Stars (10)] (Syria). The label [l327529] uses a similar inlay design to IMD and appears to have the same releases using the same catalogue numbers. In general (but probably not inclusive): Counterfeit releases mostly have catalog numbers like I-XXX, IMD-XXXX or IMD XXXX. See for example: [r24850934] [r770480] [r6643029] Releases with a catalog number containing "TC" are believed to be official releases. See for example: [r17380630] [r8092261] [r11909681] [r16940817] [r17290141] [r12026754]
