Betty Nansen Teatret

Danish theatre with roots dating back to 1857 and located at Frederiksberg Allé 57 on Frederiksberg in Copenhagen. Named after actress Betty Nansen, who managed it from 1917 until her death in 1943. Since 1992 Edison, Copenhagen has functioned as the Betty Nansen Theatre's annex stage. . After the death of Betty Nansen the theatre was renamed Allé-Scenen. In 1964 it was revived as Ungdommens Teater with the addition 'Alléscenen', see Alléscenen. In 1976, the name was changed back to Alléscenen and the theatre became recognized as a part of the landsdelsscene-programme (regional theatres). Finally, In 1980, the theater was renamed Betty Nansen Teatret.
