In 2018, Delmark Records LLC purchased the Chicago Blues & Jazz label founded by Robert G. Koester, originally as Delmar Records, then to Delmark Records in 1963 after a legal dispute initiated by Selmer, the musical instrument company which had an affiliated Selmer label (Delmar, they argued, was too similar a name to Selmer.)
