Chicago, Illinois-based blues, R&B, jazz and gospel label which operated from 1951 to 1957. For all Unofficial Releases / Repros & Bootleg copies of this label - please use United (10). Bulk of the masters are now owned by Delmark Records of Chicago, except for those of The Staple Singers, Gene Ammons and The Caravans (2) (on the sister label States), which went to Savoy Records. The label released 116 singles and two 10" LPs, but no 12" LPs. Do not confuse this label with the Los Angeles-based United Superior Records, some of whose releases show simply "United" with a very similar typeface to the Chicago label.
