AngelicA | Centro di Ricerca Musicale / Teatro San Leonardo

AngelicA music festival exists since 1991 and has changed various concert venues since its foundation. The Teatro San Leonardo is a venue (actually a deconsecrated church) that was used in Bologna since the 70's - for example Demetrio Stratos held one his very last solo concerts there. Initially when the festival started hosting concerts there, the venue was just credited as Teatro San Leonardo Bologna; after the theatre was given on permanent loan to the festival, it became possible to establish it as Centro di Ricerca Musicale - Teatro San Leonardo, hosting concerts not just during the festival (usually held in the month of May), but also from autumn to spring each year, and making it possible to use it as rehearsal or recording space to musicians requesting it. Recently, to make the link with the AngelicA organisation clearer, its official name has been changed to AngelicA | Centro di Ricerca Musicale / Teatro San Leonardo. So: concerts or studio recordings held there during the off festival season are now credited as Recorded at AngelicA | Centro di Ricerca Musicale / Teatro San Leonardo. Whereas on cds releasing concerts held during the AngelicA festival, to avoid unecessary repetition the credit used is: Recorded at Centro di Ricerca Musicale / Teatro San Leonardo, Bologna, Italy, during AngelicA, Festival Internazionale di Musica. This of course can only be guaranteed on its own I Dischi Di Angelica label; the cds released by other labels might bear incorrect variations beyond the organisation control.
