Consolidated Record Corporation
Настоящее имя: Consolidated Record Corporation
U.S. record company (1924-1929). Consolidated took over production of the Emerson Records (2) label in April, 1926, following the failure of the Emerson Phonograph Company Inc. and the subsequent reorganization and incorporation of the Emerson Recording Laboratories. Consolidated produced electrical recordings for new Emerson Electrasonic discs and retained control of older Emerson masters. Pressing was contracted to the Scranton Button Company, which had purchased the record division from the Emerson Phonograph Company Inc. Consolidated lost a major customer when Grey Gull (which had obtained most of its masters from Emerson Recording Laboratories since 1924) opened its own studio in 1926. Because sales of Emerson Electrasonic records was poor, the label was discontinued in mid-1927. Another blow to the company came later that year, when it lost its Bell (4) record account to The Starr Piano Co. Although Consolidated continued to offer personal recording services and produced several obscure labels in 1928, it suspended operations in early 1929.
