German Christian Radio Broadcasting branch Evangeliums-Rundfunk’s in-house choir, initially established by Nils Kjellström in 1978, however, shortly lived when due to overtaking business obligations at his promsising Contemporary Christian Music Magazine record label, the conductor took to his label Blue Rose Production GmbH full-time the following year. Heading the music department at ERF subsequently, Johannes Nitsch went on to produce a whole variaty of much needed radio exclusive content in choir recordings from 1979 untill 1980, when Gerhard Schnitter took over. Under his leadership the ERF-Studiochor started to record album releases while keeping the tradition of minimal production radio exclusives. From 1995 to 1997 once again Johannes Nitsch took over the ensemble, followed by eleven years led by Annette Rautenberg untill 2009, when Mirjam Langenbach began to work with the choir. Since 2013 Udo Müller (conducting) and Rainer Buß (piano) are sharing leadership of the now named ERF-Chor, changing the name according to the ensembles changed role as concerting music ambassador for it's radio home brand.
