Die Suurbiers
Настоящее имя: Die Suurbiers
Об исполнителе:
Founded in 1981 as Frau Suurbier and renamed Die Suurbiers in 1984. For the bands history between 1981 and 1984 please see Frau Suurbier. In 1985 they released their first mini LP Die Suurbiers. In 1986 Bum Bum Suurbier (Michael Beckmann) joined the band, which he left in 1987 to join Rainbirds. In the fall of 1986, Grandmaster Suurbier (Wolfgang Rohde) left the band to join Die Toten Hosen. The band was then re-formed with Heinz Suurbier (Heinz Brandenburg) and Lu Suurbier (Ludger Kleff) and was later put on hold around 1988. In 1991 an attempt was made to restart with the support of the label Polydor. The lineup at that time consisted of Cäpt'n Suurbier (Michael Wahler), Bugs Suurbier (Hans Tismar), Honky Tonk Suurbier (Dirk Bartilla) and Overnight Suurbier (Stefan Fiebig), but only produced the single [m551885] before the band went back on hiatus. The next unsuccessful restart attempt was made in 2001 with new member Tex Suurbier (Peter Hajunga) and the release of the single Möpse. The first full LP was announced in 2007 but was never released. On 02/14/2014 Cäpt'n Suurbier, founding member and frontman of the band, committed suicide. As a result of this tragic event, friends, fans and companions founded Verein Für Suurbier-Kultur Und Handwerk and published [m816235], a retrospective, which consists of previously unreleased studio, demo and live recordings. As part of the release, a new Die Suurbiers band was formed consisting of former members and Overnight Suurbier on vocals, which gave several concerts throughout Germany.
