RTL (Radio Telediffusion Luxembourg) - formerly known as RTL Plus - is a German commercial television station. It's part of the Media Group RTL Germany and owned by RTL Group, Luxembourg, which is majority-owned by German media conglomerate Bertelsmann AG. Please see/use also RTL Television for company credits if it is listed that way on releases. RTL started broadcasting on 2 January 1984 in Luxembourg but moved 1988 to Cologne, Germany. Apart from the Free Television stations RTL Television, VOX, RTL NITRO and n-tv the RTL Mediagroup Germany has also stakes in the Free TV stations RTL II and superRTL and runs the digital Pay TV channels RTL Crime, RTL Living and Passion. The subsidary RTL Interactive GmbH pools all online and transaction-based business areas beyond classic television (Online, Mobile, Licensing, Games Publishing etc.)
