Icelandic company originally founded in 1904 as a bicycle repair workshop. Started retailing gramophones and records in 1925 and issuing records with Icelandic artists soon thereafter. These releases were originally done in co-operation with Parlophone in Germany so much of the early releases have Parlophone labels or sometimes British labels after the EMI takover of Parlophone.
The company was Iceland's biggest record retailer, distributor and label up until the late 70's but the record division was shut down in late 1985 after years of losses and the remaining inventory and intellectual properties were sold to Ólafur Haraldsson the year after.
