US record company, parent company of Pro Arte label. Please use for copyright, manufacturing or similar company credits. Launched in September, 1980, as a subsidiary of Pickwick International, Inc.. Within the first year Pickwick decided to hault Quintessence and Pro Arte. Don Johnson, Pickwick's vice-president and manager of those labels, did not want to give them up so easily. He resigned his post, formed a new firm called Intersound Inc., and embarked on a series of negotiations that eventually won him the Pro Arte and Quintessence lines, plus the pertinent licensing agreements.
