The Lyons Group

The Lyons Group was a division of a company owned by the father of "Barney & Friends" creator Sheryl Leach created in 1988 to allow her to produce direct-to-video releases of an early iteration of the show titled "Barney And The Backyard Gang". It would catch the eye of PBS executives, leading to the creation and airing of "Barney & Friends" in 1992 and the subsequent reformation into Lyrick Studios in 1994.
