"HMG" stands for Hauppauge Manufacturing Group. HMG or HMG Digital Technologies Corporation was a CD manufacturer and duplicator located in Hauppauge, New York, USA. It was established in 1993, when Hauppauge Record Manufacturing Ltd. merged with publicly traded RCL Acquisition. Few years later, in 1995, HMG Digital Technologies Corporation merged with Allied Film Laboratory Inc., creating Allied DT (Allied Digital Technologies). Matrix numbers CDs manufactured by HMG generally have the following CD matrix format: xxxx-y-y HMG ⁕[release cat#/title]⁕ When crediting HMG in LCCN, ONLY the xxxx string (without the variable -y-y suffix) should be entered into the catalog number field.
