Stereotape (2)
Настоящее имя: Stereotape (2)
Originally started in 1955 as a label dedicated to 2-track stereo tapes by Audio Arts, Inc. Relaunched in 1961, headed by Burt Harris of Harriscope Productions and Stan Freeman of Greentree Electronics. Their initial catalog included 30 titles from Audio Arts (4) studio in both 4-track and 2-track reel to reels. In 1962 Stereotape was called upon to duplicate reels for Frank Sinatra's Reprise label. Stereotape went through different ownership several times, Stereo Tapes Inc. / Greentree Electronics to Bell & Howell to Audio Magnetics Corp. and finally Magtec. After Ampex pulled out of the consumer market in 1976, mail order reel company The Reel Society partnered with Stereotape for a short time. Stereotape was defunct by 1979.
Stereotape duplicated reels for Warner Bros., Reprise, Dot, and United Artists (beginning 1969) among others.
