Crypto
Настоящее имя: Crypto
Crypto was a French record label (created by Ange (4) and their manager Jean-Claude Pognant) of the mid 1970's through to 1980. It was a relaunch of the Arcane (2) label (a different word meaning the same) run by Jean-Claude Pognant, a top rock and prog promoter in France since the 1960's.
The majority of the label was French progressive rock, although there were a few pop and blues titles and a some non-French releases.
The Crypto record label was generally yellow with black print (blue logo with white background to on original 1976 and early 1977 releases). Most LPs were standard single sleeves (gatefolds include: ZAC 6400, ZAC 6402) and a good few also had extra inserts. A few releases were reissued on vinyl on the Omega Studio label in the mid 1980's, and on CD by Musea and Spalax Music in the 1990s.
Arcane (2) was distributed by Eurodisc and WEA, whereas Crypto was distributed by RCA France through to December 1978, after which distribution moved to WEA for a short while (grey labels) and then to Carrere (last releases with red label).
