Miami based record company founded, owned & operated by executive-producer, music mogul, entrepreneur & lawyer Joseph Weinberger. The company was formed in January 1995, when the then former lawyer; Joseph Weinberger of Luther Campbell and Luke Records; filed for bankruptcy after several artist lawsuits against Luther Campbell and his subsidiary companies for a variety of copyright regulations and royalty violations. Joseph Weinberger was later quoted in a Miami New Times article; "When you can buy something that's worth $10 to $15 million for about ten cents on the dollar,” he explains, “that's an excellent business opportunity.”" Joseph Weinberger bought the rights to The 2 Live Crew's music for about $800,000, plus the outstanding money he claims Luther Campbell owed him from personal loans. Weinberger then signed the remaining members of The 2 Live Crew to record with him, along with other Luke Records artists such as Poison Clan, H-Town and Bust Down amongst others. Thus was born the company Lil' Joe Records, Inc. and it's label Lil' Joe Records.
