Editorial General Sociedad Anónima (Edigsa)
Formally founded May 29th 1961. Closed in December 1983.
Impuesto de lujo 6503.
Spanish label from Catalonia from the 60s-70s founded by Josep Espar i Ticó, Claudi Martí, Ermengol Passola and Enric Cirici, specialized in Catalan music - mainly songwriters -, having started first as a series from Ediphone (from San Sebastian/Spain), and named Serie Especial Edigsa. In 1964 Ermengol Passola and Josep Maria Espinàs left the label to launch Concentric (2) a new label with the same goal. Edigsa released records licensed from labels such Le Chant Du Monde, Harmonia Mundi and Folkways Records for some years.
At the end of 1983 Edigsa, owing to some legal problems, was renamed PDI, and is currently managed by Picap since 2007.
