The Golden Age Of Opera

US private classical label issued by Edward J. Smith (EJS) and active from 1956 to 1971. These were "Private" recordings sold by subscription, which were a series of long-playing recordings devoted to documenting historical operatic performances. These recordings which are entire performances unedited, only appear on this label. Smith had two successive labels, Unique Opera Records which operated from 1972 to 1977, and A.N.N.A.
