Brunswick Radio Corporation
Настоящее имя: Brunswick Radio Corporation
Also known as the Brunswick Radio Corp.
The Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company sold its record division to Warner Brothers Pictures Inc. in April, 1930. Warner Brothers operated its new subsidiary as the Brunswick Radio Corporation. This company continued to produce the Brunswick and Vocalion (2) labels until late 1931. By that time, Warner Brothers had lost interest in commercial record production because sales had been severely hurt by the Depression. In December, 1931, Warner Brothers signed a deal with the American Record Corporation whereby ARC would record, manufacture and market Brunswick and Vocalion (2) records as the Brunswick Record Corporation. Seven years later, the Columbia Broadcasting System purchased the American Record Corporation / Brunswick Record Corporation conglomerate. Rights to Brunswick and Vocalion (2) labels reverted to Warner Brothers, which revived the Brunswick Radio Corporation. Warner Brothers sold the Brunswick Radio Corporation to Decca Records, Inc. in 1941, which operated it as a subsidiary.
