Multimedia production and distribution company, with branches in London, New York, Toronto, Paris and Hamburg. Incorporated 31st Jan 1997 as a Public Limited Company by Terry Shand (3), Geoff Kempin and Julian Paul, three former colleagues at Castle Communications. The company commenced trading on the 1st April 1997. Principal activities: To acquire and create rights to recorded music, video, television and other visual programming. Exploitation of these rights through the releases of own label compact discs, audio cassettes and licensing these rights for a variety of media. The company consisted of 4 divisions: - Eagle Records, comprising the groups frontline, mid price and budget audio activities. - Spitfire Records Inc. (Spitfire Records) - Visual Programming - Pegasus super budget audio and video. As of the 30th June 1998 its principal UK distributor BMG Entertainment International UK & Ireland Ltd. initially owned 34% equity in the company, other shareholders included edel music AG and Intel Corporation. As of 2000 however Edel Music AG subsequently become the ultimate parent. Principal wholly owned subsidiaries as of 2000 included: - Cromwell Publishing Ltd. - Cromwell productiobs Ltd. - Spitfire Records Inc. - Eagle Vision Inc. - Eagle Vision Deutschland GmbH (Formerly Eagle Rock Entertainment Deutschland GmbH) - Eagle Vision Ltd. (Formerly Eagle Vision entertainment Ltd.) - Inferno Records Limited (Inferno) (26%) Eagle Rock Entertainment PLC is reregistered as a Private company Eagle Rock Entertainment Ltd. on 5th Dec 2001. On the 21st Dec 2001 the entire share capital of the company is acquired by Eagle Rock Group Ltd. (a newly incorporated holding company) with the backing of HgCapital (ultimate owner)
