DreamCatcher Interactive Inc.
Настоящее имя: DreamCatcher Interactive Inc.
DreamCatcher Interactive Inc. (DreamCatcher Games) was a Canadian video game publisher founded in 1996. The company soon focused on the "adventure" genre and began publishing titles by an aspiring French game developer Cryo Interactive Entertainment in North America. In March 2000, Cryo purchased DreamCatcher, turning it into the exclusive USA distributor. However, Cryo Interactive went out of business in just over two years. Now DreamCatcher, in turn, absorbed most of Cryo's assets and personnel, using it as a foundation to launch their brand-new DreamCatcher Europe division.
By early 2003, the company became the tenth-largest video game publisher in the United States. DreamCatcher created a publishing branch, The Adventure Company, and partnered with several other studios in developing and distributing games, including Microïds.
In 2006, an Austrian video game publisher JoWooD Productions purchased DreamCatcher Interactive to increase its presence in North America. When JoWooD went bankrupt five years later, it was acquired by Nordic Games GmbH alongside all DreamCatcher's and The Adventure Company's assets; both became publishing labels of Nordic Games. In 2016, Nordic Games was reincorporated as THQ Nordic. Since then, DreamCatcher's operations have been supervised by THQ Nordic GmbH in Vienna, Austria.
