Intercord Ton GmbH
Настоящее имя: Intercord Ton GmbH
German record company established in 1966. Proper legal name was Intercord Tongesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung. The company was owned by the Holtzbrinck Group, until it was sold to EMI Electrola GmbH in 1994. Intercord Tongesellschaft mbH was restructured to become first Intercord Tonträger GmbH & Co. KG (27th May '94 – 5th October '95) and then Intercord Tonträger GmbH (12th October '95 - 27th October 2000).
The company owned and operated the Intercord label, amongst others.
It also distributed and/or marketed several labels in Germany, for example:
Mute, 4AD, XL Recordings, Cube Records, Gull, Curb Records, Avon, Blow Up, Global Records (5). The company was distributed by Musikvertrieb AG in 1993.
Most Intercord releases were manufactured by Sonopress, occasionally also by Teldec-Press GmbH, until they were taken over by EMI in 1994.
Attention! The six digit cat# structure XXX.XXX (usually with INT prefix) has been in use since middle of 1976. Releases with earlier ℗ & © (copyright or first publishing notes - not a release date!), are reissues throughout.
The dating of Intercord releases is a problem in many cases. There are often several releases with different first three digits. They commonly denotes the same ℗ & © date, but off course are released on different dates. If any doubt, please don't add dates here.
Intercord is known to show mastering dates at the runouts. For this reason it is desirable to denote the matrix. Please don't confuse this with a release date here, as it is just a hint!
Furthermore the matrix usually refers to the first cat# version for an Intercord release.
"Stereo/Mono" is often printed on the vinyl label, while the actual audio content is stereo only. In line with [g1.7.1] only "Stereo" should be tagged in this case.
