Hollywood Records (2)

Also known as "Hollywood". Do not confuse with a similar budget label, Hollywood Records (9). For unofficial releases, see Hollywood Records (20). In 1953 Don Pierce (2) bought the Recorded In Hollywood label from John Dolphin and renamed it to just Hollywood Records. At this time Don Pierce (2) had become president of Starday Records. So off course both labels was associated from the beginning. Late in 1957 the labels moved their headquater to Madison, Tennessee. From this point on the releases denotes "Distributed by Starday International Sales, Inc." In between 1961 and 1965 the label was dormant but known to become active once again till the late 1960. The label obviously licensed some recordings from Swing Time Records
