After Leaving 4 Star, he joined Starday Records where he was president (1953-1968). Also in 1953, Pierce founded Hollywood Records (2), a R&B label, that he operated as a side business until he retired. One of the founders and first presidents of the Country Music Association. Born: October 10, 1915 in Bellard, Washington. Died: April 3, 2005 in Gallatin, Tennessee.
