The Forum, Melbourne

Formerly State Theatre, Melbourne Located corner Russell & Flinders Street, Melbourne Australia Constructed 1927 to 1929 and opened 23 February 1929. In 1962 converted into two cinemas - the Forum downstairs and the Rapollo upstairs. In 1981 both cinemas were refurbished and opened as Forum 1 and Forum 2. In the late 1990s another conversion reverted Forum 1 into a live theatre/live music complex and Forum 2 to a smaller theatre style auditorium. After this conversion was known as Forum Theatre until rebranding circa 2017 to Forum Melbourne
