Conny's Studio
Настоящее имя: Conny's Studio
Recording studio founded in 1974 by Conny Plank and his partner Christa Fast. Located in Wolperath, Neunkirchen-Seelscheid on the southern outskirts of Cologne, Germany. His first studio production was Autobahn. From the beginning Conny Plank produced and/or engineered many of the most important recordings by significant German progressive/experimental music acts like [a4654], Neu! (all their recordings), Cluster, Ash Ra Tempel, to name a few. He favoured the modern "machinesound", but to balance also produced German - and Irish folk music.
After his death in 1987 his studio continued to be run by his widow Christa Fast and their son Stephan and was still well booked by record companies and publishers. Christa Fast's failing health forced them to offer its contents for sale in May 2006. She died in the same year. The studio was resolved and empty til 2008, then Michael and Tim Dierks of dirxmusic started to renovate the studio on agreement with Stephan Plank.
Following the sale of its contents, the studio was demolished in 2009.
Different studio name variations exist. On some releases Conny's Studio appears as Conny Plank's Studio, Conny Plank's, Conny's Studios, Connie's Studio, Connie Studio and Plank-Studio. Also it´s written on some releases in German as Connys Studio or Conny Planks Studio.
Note the correct German spelling is "Connys Studio". Appeared as such at his Wolperath home.
