Virgin Classics Ltd. was the legal entity behind the Virgin Classics / Virgin Classics Digital imprints (catolgues). Principal Activities: Production of original recordings of classical music and exploitation of copyrights. On the 9th Sept 1992 the company is renamed Virgin Records Classics Ltd., on 1st April 1993 the trade and assets of this company were subsequently transferred to sister company EMI Records Ltd., with the Virgin Classics catologue then forming part of that companies newly established classical division (label) EMI Classics On 20th Dec 2012 along with parent EMI Records Ltd. the company was sold to PLG Holdco Ltd. (Parlophone Label Group), which was formed as part of the divestment of EMI Group Ltd.'s sale to Vivendi SA.. On the 4th June 2013, Virgin Records Classics Ltd. is renamed Erato Records Classics Ltd.. As of 2018 Erato Records Classics Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Parlophone Records Ltd. , with the Virgin Classics catologue now forming part of Warner Classics.
