Teal Trutone Music
Настоящее имя: Teal Trutone Music
Teal Trutone Music was a South African record company with a history dating back to the 1940's. It was also a licensee/distributor for labels such as Vertigo, Polydor, PolyGram (incl. Polygram Music Video), Island, Chrysalis, A&M, Rave, and Fontana.
Teal Records was its own, in-house label.
After the first democratic elections in SA, the company disappeared around 1995 and eventually became PolyGram South Africa which, in turn, has since become part of the Universal Music Group.
At this time, all that seems to remain of the name is Trutone Industries, a cassette manufacturing plant which, like Gallo, is part of the JOHNNIC Communications media and entertainment group.
Note: International albums bearing catalogue numbers STAR* XXXX were in all likelihood distributed for the SA market by either Trutone or Gallo.
