History:
1990: Die Gestalten graphic agency founded by Robert Klanten, Markus Hollmann-Loges, Andreas Peyerl and Richard Elpers.
1995: Die Gestalten Verlag GmbH publisher was founded.
In 2000, Die Gestalten began to design the artwork for several releases by the Frankfurt rock band Böhse Onkelz, directed by Markus Hollmann-Loges.
In 2006 the agency was brought into the publishing house and the Die Gestalten Verlag GmbH & Co. KG was founded.
2009: Hollmann-Loges and Peyerl left the company to founded an agency called "Blitzen" and Klanten ran the publishing house alone and also held all the shares.
At the end of August 2016, Klanten initiated insolvency proceedings under self-administration to restructure the publishing house.
In 2017, an investor was found in "MairDumont" who took over 50% of the shares.
Name meaning:
The name provides insight into their philosophy: and "die gestalten" is a German double meaning both
"the creatures" and "they create".
