The Kongreßhalle am Alexanderplatz, built as part of an ensemble with the "Haus des Lehrers" between 1961 and 1963, was a vanity project of the executive of the former German Democratic Republic. It was modernised and renamed to "Berliner Congress Center" (bcc) in 2003.
