Hep House

Swedish beat label, operating in the mid-to-late 1960s. It was founded by rock band The Hep Stars in June 1966 as a multimedia corporation similar to that of Apple Corps Ltd.. The Hep Stars would never release records under the label name, instead continuing releasing their songs on Olga Records. The label saw great success, primarily with Fabulous Four and The Deejays. The first single on the label, Dum Dum / Picture Of You, reached number one on Tio i Topp. In total, the label managed to release around 30 singles, of which about half managed to become hits on the Swedish charts. They also released two LP:s during their original iteration. The label faced bankruptcy in 1968 following a multi-million movie shot by the Hep Stars which was never released and put both them and the label in dept; assets from the label were liquified as payment. Revived in the 2000s by Ulf Stjernbo to release music by the Hep Stars and their lead singer Svenne Hedlund.
