French series of 8 Georges Brassens releases issued on Philips. Main common characteristics : Pierre Cordier ‘photo-chimigramme’ of Georges Brassens and # (1 to 8) on front cover. Pierre Cordier was a friend of Brassens who invented the chimigramme, a technique mixing painting and photography. Please add 1, 2, ... 8 as series cat#. # 1 to # 7 are album and compilation, # 8 is an album. Releases of this series were only issued on LP. Original Mono versions came all in 1965 with black labels and price code S. Mono reissues have blue labels and price code D. There are Canadian versions with blue labels for Mono and red for Stereo. And Japanese versions with ‘Georges Brassens’ and title of the first song on front cover instead of # on French and Canadian versions. Same material was also issued on Georges Brassens (2) and Georges Brassens (3) series (with different front cover design).
