Kansas City, Missouri recording studio started by Victor Damon as Damon Transcription Laboratory in 1933, operating out of the Midland Building at 1221 Baltimore. The studio moved to 117 W. 14th Street where Damon continued providing recording services until his retirement in 1973. Engineering assistant Chuck Chapman then purchased the business and equipment and remained at the 14th street location under the Damon number until 1975. For two years, Chapman partnered with Cavern Sound, moving into their underground facility in Independence, Missouri and operating as Cavern / Damon.
