British record company and owner of the Oriole and Embassy labels. Incorporated 13th Dec 1948.
Records were manufactured at the company's own pressing plants Levy's, Pressing Plant, Aston Clinton and Colnbrook. The company headquarters at New Bond Street also housed Levy's Sound Studios, which became CBS Studios, London, following the aqusistion of Oriole Records Ltd. by Columbia Broadcasting System, Inc. (CBS) in 1964.
The company was subsequently renamed CBS Records Limited. 1st April 1965.
