Fundição Progresso
Настоящее имя: Fundição Progresso
Deactivated stove and safe factory in Lapa, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, (property of great historical value and fortunately preserved) transformed into an Independent Cultural Center and Stage of Shows after the resistance, against its possible demolition in 1982, by a group avant-garde in carioca culture, which had already revolutionized the city since the 1970s with the creation of the theater company Asdrúbal Trouxe o Trombone and, later, Circo Voador.
The Cultural Center hosts cultural initiatives and groups, including Orquestra Petrobras Sinfônica, Intrépida Trupe, Teatro de Anonymous, Armazém Companhia de Teatro. With a varied and accessible grid, the space also offers a wide range of courses and workshops, ranging from crafts to virtual reality.
Fundição Progresso is, in addition, one of the main stages of shows in the country. Here, the biggest names in Brazilian music, of all genders and ages, were presented, such as Maria Rita, Ney Matogrosso, [a1970829], Natiruts, Criolo and Nando Reis, in addition to international stars such as Arcade Fire, Franz Ferdinand, Manu Chao and Motörhead, among so many other artists who made history in the arena of the cultural center. To preserve and expand this vocation, the space permanently increases its infrastructure. In recent years, it has installed modern air conditioning, sound, lighting and stage systems, promoted architectural improvements and reforms in the floor and terrace and created a new area for cabins.
