I Grandi Musicisti

Beware-This is the 10” vinyl series First series published by Fratelli Fabbri Editori. This was a series of 195 10” LP’s, dedicated to classical composers. They issued one record every Wednesday, starting in October or November 1965, ending in July 1969. Some issues had two LP's, some one LP and a 7" single sided flexi-disc. You could purchase them at newsstands or have a postal subscription. The records were accompanied by booklets with historical information about the artist, music, instruments etcetera. There were 24 boxes or folders, numbered I til XXIV, in which you could collect them. On the back cover of the records is the price printed Italian Lire, L.480 or L.750 (2xLP). However there are issues which have L.550, maybe represses. Fabbri (famous for recycling) had two more “I Grandi Musicisti” series: one on 12” Vinyl, starting in 1978, and a CD/cassette series from 1994. I Grandi Musicisti (this) -10” vinyl -1965-1969 -catalogue numbers firstly in format iGM-XXX, from approximately issue 70 the format changes to iGMsc-XXX. I Grandi Musicisti (2) -12” vinyl -1978-1980, and represses from 1981-1982 -catalogue numbers in format GMN-XX I Grandi Musicisti (3) -CD and cassette -1994-1995 -catalogue numbers in format GM XXX (CD) or GMX (cassette)
