African-American singer (tenor voice) and choral director (born February 21, 1879 in Lexington, Kentucky - died February 17, 1928 in Nashville, Tennessee). The Reverend James A. Myers was first a member, later the director of the internationally touring Fisk University Jubilee Quartet. He sang 2nd tenor on the recordings the quartet made for Victor between December 1909 and February 1911, for Columbia between 1915 and 1926, for Edison in 1911-1912, for Emerson and Starr in 1916. He also recorded many solo performances. Myers was married to contralto Henrietta Myers (1878-1968), who replaced him as director of The Jubilee Singers (2).
