Began playing guitar at the age of seven. He wrote his first classical piece at thirteen, in 1936, called “Dream Fantasy” in three movements.
At 21, McNulty worked as a music librarian for NBC Blue Network which eventually became ABC-TV. He soon became Band Remote Manager, booking bands for shows. He was later the Music Director for The Oprah Winfrey Show.
He was also writing and recording in his basement studio for commercials and musicals including [i]Jody Boy[/i] and [i]The Flight Brothers[/i].
Some of his best known works include “Bye Bye Baby Goodbye,” “Gonna Leave Tomorrow,” “Moonlit Night,” and “To Be With You.”
He wrote music to the end: "After 90 years, I continue to write and record songs every day. I won't stop."
