Goslab (stylized as "ΓΟΣΛΑΒ") is a Georgian artistic collective established in 2000 in Tbilisi. Several members of the group are based in Europe, primarily Germany. The name "Goslab" (Гослаб in Russian) is a portmanteau of "Государственная" (State, or Public) and "лаборатория" (laboratory), a playful neologism referencing the country's Soviet past institutions, all owned and controlled by the Communist Party and routinely featuring "Гос" prefix in their names. The group's works appeared at several prominent European film festivals, including the 2003 International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen, Oldenburg Short Film Festival (2004) and Image Movement (2010) in Berlin.
