Thea Djordjadze (b. 1971, Tbilisi) is a Georgian contemporary visual/cross-disciplinary artist who currently lives and works in Germany. She's a member of Goslab artistic collective. From 1988 to 1993, Djordjadze studied at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. She then relocated to the Netherlands and attended the Gerrit Rietveld Akademie in Amsterdam for one year. From 1994 to 2000, Thea studied at the Staatliche Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under professors Dieter Krieg (1995-'97) and Rosemarie Trockel ('98-2001), graduating as Trockel's Meisterschüler. In 1999, Thea suggested a "Nikakoi" alias to Nika Machaidze (meaning "none," "undefined," "featureless" in Russian), which he used almost exclusively to release most of his music. From 1999 to 2003, Thea Djordjadze was a member of hobbypopMUSEUM artist group, alongside with Björn Dahlem, Bettina Furler, Christian Jendreiko, Matthias Lahme, André Niebur, Sophie Von Hellermann and many others. The group operated a studio/exhibition space in a former postal office in Düsseldorf and participated in several shows abroad, invited to San Francisco by Luc Tuymans and visiting Tate Modern gallery in London, UK.
