Known as Maestro Aurélio Melo, he is a Composer, Arranger, Conductor of the Teresina Symphony Orchestra, Guitarist, Bombardinist (Euphonium), Trombonist and Brazilian singer born in Oeiras, Piauí. He began his studies in childhood in the early 70s joining the band of the Project Music in Schools at the State Gymnasium Álvaro Ferreira in the Piçarra neighborhood, south of Teresina. In the band, his first instrument was Bombardino (Euphonium), which gave him a great base in harmony. Then it went on to the Trombone. During his studies he developed his love for verses, lyrics and melodies. In adulthood he composed, together with José Rodrigues (4), the song "Teresina" (the unofficial anthem of Teresina) that won several awards, the first version was recorded in 1986 on the disc Suite de Terreiro by Grupo Candeia (founded by Aurélio and partners). Aurélio was also part of the group Ensaio Vocal, which made him enter the world of choirs. In the 90s, he had the mission of succeeding Emmanuel Coêlho Maciel in the project of creating and conducting a symphony orchestra and making it popular. The strategy, with an intense desire to value regional culture, was to mix northeastern and European music, thus making the Teresina Symphonic Orchestra known.
