Alexandre Birnfeld

Alexandre Birnfeld (Montenegro, April 29, 1964 - Porto Alegre, October 26, 2014) was a Brazilian bassist, composer, arranger, conductor and teacher. He was a founding member of the group Ex-Machina (1997–2006) of classical experimental music, based in Porto Alegre, formed by students of the Department of Music at UFRGS, in which he participated as a composer and instrumentalist, released albums and participated in presentations in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, playing until the end of the group.
