To be used for El Cuchipe song credits. There is no certainty about the author of this song: might be a Colombian or Bolivian Traditional (according to sources or releases), but is generally considered to have been written by Eduardo Gómez Bueno, often credited with Orozco. Also attributed to Jorge Añez and Campo Elías Torres (Colombian) , or with “D.R.A.”. And on Brigitte Bardot’s it’s generally credited to Ramirez and Cesari, generally together with Orozco. SADAIC (Argentinian rights holders) credit it to Carlos Julio Ramirez, Roberto Antonio Cesari (both most probably different than their homonyms already in the database) and Ismael Orozco Lopez. The song was proposed to Brigitte Bardot and she eventually recorded it in June 1963 with “Los Colombianos” a.k.a. Narcisso Debourg and Pedro Serrano (2), generally with credits to Orosco (music), Ramirez and Cesari (lyrics). El Cuchipe has also been sung by Los Incas, Los Machucambos, Los Calchakis, Dario Moreno (in France), Los Pekenikes (in Spain), El Cuarteto Imperial, Los Lobos (Los Angeles) and many others. Basically a "torbellino" (Andean rhythm from Colombia), it has been recorded in guabina, bambuco or joropo style. A complete analysis of lyrics differences between versions is still to be done. Different possibilities exist for crediting this song (according to what is actually printed on release): - Eduardo Gómez Bueno, ANV Bueno – from Antioquia, Colombia generally considered to be the songwriter, possibly with his wife Soledad Ramirez - Ismael Orozco, some with ANV Orosco – even though considered not to be the co-writer - Carlos Ramirez (14) – generally credited for Lyrics of El Cuchipe - Roberto Cesari (2) – generally credited for Lyrics of El Cuchipe - Jorge Añez - Campo Elías Torres
