Iris P. Love

Matthew Scott was a founding member of Dunedin trio Betashine in the mid-1990s, who disbanded when he relocated to Wellington in 2001. There he replaced Mikel Goodwin on treated guitars for N.U.T.E until 2003, becoming better known as Iris Pearl Love. During his tenure with N.U.T.E he was also a live member of Gugonix with N.U.T.E bandmate DJ Nightmare, and soon earnt a reputation locally for his dark, textural guitar work. He then became a member of Disjecta Membra on treated guitars from about 2002. Following his departure from N.U.T.E and Gugonix he also played briefly as a live member of Percy Feral, before joining Sullen Moon fulltime on guitars, treatments, synths and backing vocals from about 2004. In 2005 he resumed the Betashine moniker for solo recordings - Iris performing all instruments and vocals - with a debut solo release slated for 2007/2008. Besides Betashine, he is still a regular member of both Sullen Moon and Disjecta Membra. He has also been known to collaborate on external projects with Russell Dench (of N.U.T.E, Disjecta Membra and The Harlequin Cube).
